What happens during a pharmacist assessment?
The pharmacist will ask questions about your symptoms, medical history, and current medications. Based on the assessment, they may prescribe treatment, recommend over-the-counter options, or refer you to another healthcare provider if needed.
Can the pharmacist refer me to a doctor if necessary?
Yes. If your condition requires further evaluation or is outside the pharmacist’s scope, you will be advised to see a physician or nurse practitioner.
Will this replace seeing my family doctor?
No. Pharmacist prescribing supports access to care for specific conditions and does not replace ongoing care from your family doctor.
Is this service suitable for children?
Some conditions may be assessed for children depending on age and clinical guidelines. The pharmacist will determine eligibility during the consultation.
